The Cabildo of Lanzarote is compelled to re-tender the demolition of Radio Insular and the construction of a new socio-health building in Arrecife, after the initial tender received no bids.

The initial tender, with a budget of nearly 544,000 euros, failed to attract any construction companies, thus halting the project for a new facility on Juan Negrín street in Arrecife.
Adjustments to the tender conditions are expected in the coming weeks, likely including an increased financial contribution, to ensure the initiative moves forward. The core of the project remains: demolishing the existing structure and optimizing the use of the nearly 225 square meter plot.

"The aim is to have a building for people with disabilities. Another option for the building would be its use as a youth center."

Marci Acuña · Councillor for Social Welfare and Inclusion
The Councillor for Social Welfare and Inclusion, Marci Acuña, had previously stated that the future building could be designated for people with disabilities or as a youth center. The planned layout includes two distinct floors: the ground floor for common areas and offices, and the first floor for bedrooms.
The execution of the works, once awarded, is estimated to take a minimum of one year. This means that, at the earliest, the new building would not be completed until the end of 2027, as previously reported by CANARIAS7.
