Rescue of a diver in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.

A diving excursion in the waters of Lanzarote concluded with the emergency rescue of a 27-year-old woman, who was hospitalized in serious condition due to respiratory difficulties.

The incident occurred this Thursday along the coast of Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza, when fellow divers raised the alarm after the athlete emerged from the water. The young woman exhibited severe symptoms of incomplete drowning and significant breathing problems.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES 112) immediately dispatched a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). Upon arrival, healthcare personnel stabilized the diver on the coastal area before initiating her critical transfer to the Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa in Arrecife, under continuous medical supervision.
Patrols from the Guardia Civil and Local Police secured the perimeter to facilitate the evacuation and have begun investigations to determine the exact causes of the incident, which may be related to decompression issues or a malfunction during the dive.
