Two people have died and at least two others have been injured in a serious traffic accident that occurred this Thursday on Lanzarote's LZ-2 highway, when a car collided with a bus.

The incident took place in the stretch between Arrecife and Playa Blanca, near Yaiza, close to a gas station. The impact occurred when the car, for reasons still under investigation, crashed into the rear of the public transport vehicle.
Emergency services received the alert around 7:42 PM. Upon arrival, personnel from the Consorcio de Emergencias de Lanzarote confirmed the deaths of the two adult occupants of the car. An approximately eight-year-old child was also traveling in the car and was taken to a hospital in apparently good health.
The bus was carrying the driver and eight passengers. One of them sustained injuries of unknown severity and was also attended to by health services.
The Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) arrived at the scene of the accident to begin investigating the causes of the incident and to manage traffic in the area, which was affected by the road closure.
