The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and La Graciosa, served to formally present these two regional strategies. The main objective is to integrate physical activity into the healthcare system and strengthen ethical values in grassroots sports on the island.
The ACTIVÍDATE project seeks to establish a direct link between the medical and sports sectors. Through this initiative, healthcare professionals can prescribe physical exercise, referring patients to specialized units where personalized training plans are designed to improve their quality of life.
“"The ACTIVÍDATE project represents the definitive union between the healthcare and sports systems in our archipelago."
Meanwhile, the GANAR initiative focuses on promoting safe environments and fostering principles such as respect and responsibility. This program includes training sessions aimed at both youth athletes and their families, reinforcing Lanzarote's position as a benchmark in sports management.
The working session also allowed for progress in planning the island's sports calendar. The institutions have agreed to hold further meetings in the coming weeks to prepare for key events, such as the upcoming Island Sports Fair, scheduled for October in the island's capital.
