The musical project Lanzarote Ensemble will embark on a sonic journey towards one of the most moving texts in Western sacred tradition: the 'Stabat Mater', a medieval poem depicting the sorrow of the Virgin Mary at the foot of the cross. The concert will take place in the municipality of Tinajo.
The program brings together two of the most celebrated musical versions from the Italian Baroque. Antonio Lucio Vivaldi's work, composed around 1712 for contralto and strings, offers an intimate and contemplative spirituality with a sober atmosphere and expressive depth. Meanwhile, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater', written in 1736, brings a brighter sensibility, blending drama and melodic beauty for soprano, alto, and string orchestra.
Lanzarote Ensemble is known for its flexibility and adaptability to different situations, venues, and repertoires, including new creations and original compositions. This innovative and high-quality group is driven by the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 8:30 PM in the San Roque Church in Tinajo. The estimated duration is 60 minutes, and admission is free until full capacity. The concert is suitable for all audiences.
