The 34th edition of IRONMAN Lanzarote, scheduled for May 23, 2026, will be a historic event as it marks the end of Club La Santa's collaboration as organizer, after 34 years of involvement.

IRONMAN Lanzarote, recognized as Europe's oldest triathlon, is preparing for its 34th edition on May 23, 2026. This event, which has attracted over 50,000 participants since 1992, is considered one of the most demanding globally due to the island's natural conditions, especially the wind.
The 2026 edition will hold special significance as it will be the last organized by the sports complex Club La Santa. This entity has been linked to the event since its inception in 1992, solidifying the race as an international benchmark in long-distance triathlon and helping to position Lanzarote as a key destination for endurance sports.

"The event's impact has not been limited to the sports field. It has also had repercussions on tourism and the local economy, by projecting the island's image as an ideal place for outdoor sports."

The IRONMAN Lanzarote course is known for its toughness. It includes a 3.8-kilometer swim at Playa Grande (Puerto del Carmen), a 180-kilometer bike ride through enclaves such as Timanfaya National Park and La Geria, and a final 42.2-kilometer marathon along Avenida de las Playas. This route combines the scenic beauty of the island, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, with significant technical difficulty.
Although Club La Santa will cease organizing the event from 2027, the race will continue to be held in Lanzarote. The organization has announced that more information about the 2027 edition, including registration dates and logistical aspects, will be provided in the coming months. The 2026 edition is thus presented as an opportunity to celebrate the trajectory of one of the most emblematic sports competitions in the Canary Islands and Europe.
