A delegation from Lanzarote, led by the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, has inaugurated its program at the 39th Salón Gourmets in Madrid, focusing on the commercialization of local products, sustainability, and the island's landscape.

The Saborea Lanzarote stand at the Salón Gourmets has become a meeting point for fine cuisine and the island's products. The institutional and business delegation, headed by the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, along with the insular vice-president, María Jesús Tovar, and councillors Nori Machín and Armando Santana, presented a strategy centered on quality, identity, and respect for the environment.

"Lanzarote and La Graciosa have understood that their gastronomy is not just a tourist attraction, but a key tool for economic development and social cohesion. We are here to show the world that behind every product there is landscape, tradition, and innovation, and that this combination is our greatest competitive value."

The stand's program, titled "Lanzarote and its gastronomy: a local economy and landscape strategy," outlines the Cabildo's roadmap. Vice-president María Jesús Tovar emphasized the significant boost these days provide for the island's gastronomic sector, thanks to Next Generation EU Funds, which enable Lanzarote's products and culinary professionals to reach new markets.
Among the activities, the audiovisual "Traditional Cuisine Recipes of Lanzarote," based on the work by Fefo Nieves, was presented. The Hospitality Councillor, Armando Santana, noted that this work is a tribute to the island's culinary roots and a tool to project them into the future, preserving their essence. The event also offers an opportunity for Lanzarote students in Madrid to learn about the keys to external and internal promotion of insular products.
