The celebration, supported by the Lanzarote Island Council, aims to strengthen citizen coexistence and boost the local economy of this significant town on the island.
The program will kick off at 11:00 AM with offerings specifically designed for children, including a play area, inflatables, workshops, and a family show. The City Council seeks to provide safe and accessible entertainment spaces for families to enjoy this special date together.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlighted that the San Juan celebration is a deeply rooted tradition in the municipality, offering an opportunity for community gathering in public spaces. The day will blend leisure, culture, and tradition, encouraging participation from all age groups.
Local gastronomy will also take center stage, with initiatives to promote local products and support the economic fabric. The Councilor for Commerce, Alma González, emphasized the importance of such events for showcasing the commercial and gastronomic offerings of Playa Honda, including a tasting of local products.
Various musical performances will liven up the day, creating a festive atmosphere along the coastline. Although the full lineup of artists is yet to be detailed, live music will be a key attraction. The Councilor for Festivals, Estefanía Luzardo, recalled that it is one of the most anticipated celebrations, combining tradition and entertainment by the sea.
The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the traditional San Juan bonfire, scheduled for 9:30 PM. This event symbolizes the arrival of summer and the popular celebrations of June 23rd.
