The incident occurred this Saturday, with the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium receiving the alert at 09:33 AM. The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) requested the Consortium's assistance due to the site's difficulties in evacuating the injured worker.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the location to facilitate the worker's descent from the upper floor of the construction. Medical staff assessed the worker's injuries at the scene of the accident.
Due to complications in using conventional stairs, firefighters immobilized the injured individual with a vacuum mattress. Subsequently, they used a ladder truck to safely lower him to the ground.
Once on the ground, the worker was transferred to an SUC ambulance, which transported him to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital in Arrecife for medical attention.
The rescue operation involved the Civil Guard, the Local Police of Yaiza, and personnel from the construction site, in addition to the Security and Emergency Consortium and the SUC.
