The vice-president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, visited the facilities of the Associated Center of the UNED in Arrecife, located in the Antiguo Parador de Turismo, to oversee the executed improvements. The project, funded with 40,000 euros from Next Generation EU funds, has modernized the center's technological, audiovisual, and furniture resources.
The main objective of this initiative has been to equip students and faculty with facilities suitable for the 21st century, visibly enhancing the quality of teaching and cultural life. The renovation has been carried out with absolute respect for the historical value of the building and the murals by César Manrique.
The investment has enabled the technological transformation of the study and tutorial classrooms, as well as the Aula Magna. Six latest-generation interactive screens have been installed, optimizing distance university education and boosting the center's capacity to host top-tier academic and cultural events.
The Aula Magna has undergone a comprehensive design renovation, including a new technical lighting system, a revamped sound system, and the provision of 36 tables and 60 chairs. Additionally, furniture for the library area and UNED Sénior has been updated.
