A 25-year-old man has been airlifted by the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) after suffering an accident in the Vizcaíno ravine, in the municipality of Puntallana, La Palma.

The incident occurred around 12:00 PM this Saturday, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 received an alert about the incident. The accident site, the Vizcaíno ravine, is difficult to access, requiring the activation of specialized resources.
Due to weather conditions, part of the GES rescue helicopter crew had to approach the scene on foot to provide first aid to the injured individual. Subsequently, along with firefighters, the man was transported by land to an accessible area.
Once in a safe location, medical personnel attended to the 25-year-old man, who presented with a moderate prognosis trauma. His aerial evacuation to the La Palma University Hospital was then completed.
