The Agaete Valley has unveiled its program for the Festivities in Honor of San Pedro Apóstol 2026, which will feature more than 50 events from May 29th to June 29th.

The celebrations will kick off on May 29th with a street parade by the Agrupación Musical Guayedra and the raising of the San Pedro flag in the Plaza de San Pedro. The opening day will conclude with a performance by the group Yemaya. This year, Juana Jesús Sosa García will have the honor of raising the flag, in recognition of her connection to the festivities.
A key moment will be on June 6th, with the reading of the opening speech by Juan Gabriel Cruz Rosario, a Graphic Design professor and local resident, presented by neighbor Águeda Rosario Sosa. The event will be accompanied by music from the duo Juan Carlos y Dunia and will culminate in a popular street party in the Plaza de San Pedro with Acuarela y +Candela.
The night of June 27th will mark the farewell of the pilgrims heading to Tamadaba, preceding the traditional Bajada de La Rama, which will take place on Sunday, June 28th. It will be accompanied by the bands La Clandestina, Agaete, and Guayedra, as well as the papagüevos. The day will conclude with the Retreta, fireworks, and the Romero party.
June 29th, the main day of the festivities, will begin with the Diana Floreada. The Church of San Pedro will host the Pilgrims' Eucharist and the religious service in honor of the patron saint, followed by a procession. In the evening, the Plaza de San Pedro will be the setting for the recognition of the Romeros Mayores, musical performances, the Retreta, and a fireworks display.
The religious program includes the Triduum in honor of San Pedro Apóstol on June 25th, 26th, and 27th in the Church of San Pedro, in addition to the masses and processions.
Cultural and popular activities encompass street parties, parades, children's events, exhibitions, talks, the Romería-Ofrenda, the Commercial Fair of Local Products and Resources, and the Cultural Week of the Sociedad Valle de Agaete. A new papagüevo, created by Martín Melián Roque, will debut.
The mayor of Agaete, María del Carmen del Rosario Godoy, highlighted the unifying nature of these festivities. The presentation, held at the Sociedad del Valle, included the unveiling of the commemorative poster and t-shirts, designed by resident Yurena Sosa Jiménez.
