With only four matches left in the first phase of the Disa Government of Canarias Regional League of First Category, Almogarén has achieved a significant climb in the standings, now occupying the second position in its group. This accomplishment comes after their victory over Saladar de Jandía.
Meanwhile, Gáldar Ybarra, despite suffering a narrow defeat in La Palma against Tamanca, managed to retain its second place, keeping its aspirations alive for the final stage of the competition. This contrasts with Castro Morales, whose loss to Tedote definitively removes them from playoff contention, while Castillo faced another disappointment, falling to Bediesta.
In Group A, Castillo was unable to overcome Bediesta, who secured a clear 12-8 victory on the Isla Bonita. Aridane continues to impress, defeating Campitos in Tenerife by 10-12 and snatching second place. The day also saw a surprise as Guamasa overcame the undefeated leader, Unión Antigua, by 12-11.
In Group B, Gáldar Ybarra returned from its visit to Tamanca with a 12-11 defeat, despite a strong performance from its top wrestler. The northern team, however, remains in second place, which guarantees them a playoff spot. In other matches, Chimbesque continued its winning streak, beating Candelaria de Mirca by 8-12, and Victoria struggled to defeat Rosario de Fuerteventura by 12-11.
Group C presented mixed results for the Gran Canaria teams. Almogarén moved into second place after defeating Saladar de Jandía by 12-11. In contrast, Castro Morales lost to Tedote by 7-12, which eliminates them from qualification possibilities. The 12-12 draw between Tegueste and Rosario de Valle Guerra, first and second respectively, allowed the team from Valsequillo to overtake them in the standings.
Almogarén's victory was hard-fought against the group's last-place team, the depleted Saladar de Jandía. Despite an initial 5-1 lead, the opposing team managed to partially close the gap to 5-6. Nevertheless, Almogarén secured the win, pushing the score to 9-6, which set the stage for their final triumph.
