The company Trop Obras y Proyectos S.L. will be responsible for executing this ambitious project, aimed at alleviating the growing demand for parking spaces in the historic center. The project, designed by the Urban Planning Department, will transform an area currently used for temporary surface parking into a modern facility.
The intervention includes the construction of two underground levels with capacity for 141 parking spaces, which will feature charging points for electric vehicles. Above this infrastructure, a public garden plaza will be created, incorporating a symbolic sculpture, a children's play area, and a multi-sport court, addressing a request from local residents.
Additionally, the space will include public restrooms, changing rooms, and four commercial units intended to boost local businesses and economic activity. Access to the parking facility will be from Calle Infanta Benchara, harmoniously integrating with the existing urban fabric.
This development marks the first phase of a larger project that plans to convert the remaining facilities of the former institute into new municipal offices. The construction period for this initial phase is set at 18 months.
