The talk is part of the campaign ‘Conocer para Conservar. Flora única, futuro común’ (Know to Conserve. Unique Flora, Common Future), organized by the Canarian Botanical Garden ‘Viera y Clavijo’ and the Department of Environment of the Gran Canaria Island Council.
The objective is to bring to the public the value and fragility of Gran Canaria's threatened flora. Attendees will discover the uniqueness of endemic plants found in Gáldar's Protected Natural Areas, the main threats they face, and the conservation efforts underway.
The presentation, which requires no prior registration and offers free entry until full capacity is reached, will be held in the Sala Sábor of the Consistorial Houses.
The campaign also includes a traveling exhibition available at Plaza de Santiago until September 27th, and an interpretive route on Saturday, September 26th, through the Amagro Mountain Natural Monument, for which registrations are already full.
