The Gáldar City Council has extended an invitation to citizens to participate in diving baptisms to be held as part of Fotosub Sardina 2026. This activity offers a unique opportunity for participants to discover the underwater world for the first time and learn about the richness of the marine depths in Sardina Bay.
The experience is aimed at individuals over 12 years old with no prior scuba diving experience. Under the supervision of professional instructors from the specialized center Buceo Norte, attendees will undertake a controlled first dive.
The sea baptism will be free of charge. To secure a spot and prevent last-minute cancellations, a deposit of 10 euros is required. The activity includes all necessary equipment, such as a wetsuit, mask, fins, BCD, regulator, and air tank, as well as individual accident insurance.
This initiative is particularly designed for those curious about the sensation of breathing underwater and discovering marine biodiversity. Spots are limited to 20 on a strict first-come, first-served basis, so early booking is recommended.
The baptisms are part of the program for the 12th edition of Fotosub Sardina 2026, which aims to highlight the richness and biodiversity of one of Gáldar's main underwater natural spaces, offering a different way to experience and enjoy this heritage.
