The Gáldar City Council has opened registrations for the twelfth edition of the FotoSub Sardina, which will take place from October 2nd to 4th in the bay of Sardina.

Underwater photography teams will compete to capture the most impressive images in the classic categories of CazaFotoSub (freediving photography) and Open Fotosub. Additionally, the Reels Challenge, focused on short vertical videos for content creators, will be held for the second consecutive year, with registration closing on August 12th.
The CazaFotoSub competition, taking place on Friday, will award 1,800 euros in prizes. Participants will have five hours in the water to photograph the largest number of different species while freediving, facing the challenge of identifying over 80 species without diving tanks.
The Open Fotosub, held in pairs on Saturday, October 3rd, aims to attract high-level professionals from all over Spain with a renewed rulebook and a total prize fund of 5,200 euros.
Finally, the Reels Challenge will take place throughout September. With 15 available spots, pairs will create a one-minute reel to highlight the cultural and tourist richness of the marine environment, competing for 1,000 euros in cash prizes.
The event will also feature activities such as an introduction to diving (prior registration required) and the school Fotosub, where students will undertake snorkeling routes.
