The parade, which began with the traditional dance of the papagüevos and the participation of the majorettes under the direction of Alba García, featured an opening by students from Yurena Molina's dance school. Guía athletes from various disciplines contributed the spirit of sport to the spectacle.
Live music, conducted by Arístides Sosa with vocals by María Casal, accompanied the procession, adding emotion to the performance. The five floats narrated Olympic history, from its origins to the modern era and a projection of the future, with a narrator providing context for each stage.
The visual presentation was enhanced by acrobatics, stilt walkers, and stage interventions. One of the highlights was the recreation of the Barcelona 92 Olympic flame lighting, with an arrow launched from the facade of the Church to the Town Hall.
The production involved numerous local professionals, artists, and extras, from costume creation to artistic and musical direction. The Mayor of Guía, Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, highlighted the value of the celebration and the chosen theme, emphasizing the participants' involvement and the continuation of the tradition.
The parade transformed the streets of Guía into a grand open-air spectacle, blending history, sport, music, and dance. The night concluded with a concert by Aduén Amaya, a young singer from Telde known for his Latin rhythms, confirming the commitment to local artistic talent during the Fiestas de la Virgen.
The floats will bid farewell to the public on the 15th during the Battle of Flowers, starting at 19:00 hours after the Ribbon Race.
