The Manuel Velázquez Cabrera Chair of the ULPGC and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura are organizing the presentation of the book Los majos. An approach to the archaeology of the ancient inhabitants of Fuerteventura. The work, written by Jonathan A. Santana Cabrera, focuses on the archaeological knowledge of the island's first populations.
Jonathan A. Santana Cabrera is a researcher specializing in archaeology and the study of the aboriginal populations of the Canary Islands. His research career has focused on projects concerning the colonization of the islands and the adaptation processes of their first inhabitants from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the auditorium of the Centro Insular de Juventud. It will feature the author, Manuel Lobo Cabrera, emeritus professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Isidoro Hernández Sánchez, director of the Archaeological Museum of Fuerteventura.
This presentation aims to bring to the public a publication dedicated to the archaeology of Fuerteventura's ancient inhabitants, thereby contributing to the dissemination of knowledge about the island's pre-Hispanic past.
The activity is part of the collaboration between the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, through the Manuel Velázquez Cabrera Chair of History of Administration, and the Department of Culture of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
