Events will commence at 9:00 AM with the Pilgrims' Mass at the Church of Santa María de Guía. Subsequently, at 11:00 AM, the Solemn Religious Service to the Most Holy Virgin will take place. Following the service, the Processional Route of the Sacred Image will occur, presided over by the mayor Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, accompanied by the municipal corporation and various authorities.
In the afternoon, at 7:00 PM, the historic town center streets will be filled with joy during the traditional Flower Battle, a popular confetti war. Previously, at 6:00 PM, a ribbon race will be held around the Plaza Grande and the streets Marqués del Muni and Médico Estévez.
The highlight of the day will be the free concert by Café Quijano at 9:00 PM in the Plaza Grande. The León-based group will present their latest work, Miami 1990, and perform their greatest hits from nearly three decades of musical career, blending their Latin pop-rock sound with new compositions.
After the concert, the festive night will continue with performances by La Mekánica by Tamatindos, Leyenda Joven, DJ Javi Row, and Pronova DJ. To accommodate the expected large public turnout, Global has reinforced its bus services throughout the night.
On Sunday, August 16th, the municipality will celebrate the feast of co-patron San Roque with a program of events extending until August 23rd. This includes masses, processions, traditional children's games, a Papagüevos parade, and a comedy show by Omayra Cazorla.
