Thousands of dancers celebrated the spirit of the La Rama festival, joining the musical explosion that marked its conclusion. The Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves hermitage, by the sea, was the epicenter of joy and dancing, with the Banda de Agaete adding the final touch to a crowded and passionate day.
The celebration, which began in the town center of Agaete at 10:00 AM, proceeded through the town to the Puerto de Las Nieves. Despite the wind and heat, the festival reaffirmed its uniqueness from the first note to the last, experienced with vows, tradition, with family, or with friends.
With the surroundings adorned in green branches, the iconic papagüevos ready for their dances, and the crowd prepared, the second part of the day was lived intensely, anticipating the grand finale and La Retreta under the night sky of Agaete.
After a swim and some rest, participants recharged their energy to return to the town and await the final firework display of the day at 10:00 PM for one last dance. Trading green for the red of the night lights, La Retreta once again filled this seaside spot in Gran Canaria, showcasing the tradition and energy of August 4th.
As the sun set and after enjoying the Agaete landscape and the refreshing sea breeze, the festivities resumed at 10:00 PM, continuing until midnight with fireworks to close one of the most beloved and anticipated days in the Gran Canarian municipality.
