The Department of Social Policy, Seniors, and Disability of the Guía City Council, led by Alejandro Rivero, has organized a visit to the Living Museums of La Aldea de San Nicolás. These unique spaces are dedicated to preserving and disseminating the historical memory, traditions, and traditional ways of life of Gran Canaria, offering a sensory and participatory experience.
The activity, managed by the La Aldea Community Project Foundation, is free of charge except for lunch, which each visitor will have to pay for. The Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve Institute, the Guguy Cultural, Leisure, and Sports Association, and the Foundation itself are also collaborating in this initiative.
The visit is scheduled for October 2, 2026. Departure will be at 8:30 AM from the bus stop adjacent to the Civil Guard. Visits will take place from approximately 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and lunch will be at the ‘El Flamboyán’ Restaurant (with a menu costing €20). Return is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
Participants who do not wish to eat at the restaurant can bring their own food. Places are limited to 25 participants, and registration must be completed in person at the Citizen Attention Office of the Guía City Council, with a maximum of two registrations per person.
