'Batman' Arrested After Store Robbery in Corralejo

The Civil Guard apprehended an individual disguised as the superhero after forcing entry into a business and stealing the cash register.

An individual disguised as Batman has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, for allegedly committing a robbery at a commercial establishment early in the morning.

The Civil Guard from the Las Palmas Command has arrested a person in connection with a forced robbery carried out at a commercial premises in Corralejo, Fuerteventura. The incident, which occurred during the early hours of August 12th, has been described as executed in the style of the well-known superhero Batman.
The events unfolded after the Operational Center for Services received an alert about a possible robbery at a business located on Poseidón street. Upon arrival, the patrol officers confirmed damage to the access door and one of the sides of the premises, consistent with broken glass. The perpetrator had stolen the cash register, which contained approximately 500 euros, and caused damages initially estimated at 750 euros.
Security camera footage proved crucial for the investigation. It showed a person with their face covered by a mask of the comic character Batman and wearing distinctive attire: black boots, ochre trousers, and a black hooded sweatshirt. Based on these clues, officers identified and located an individual whose clothing fully matched that observed in the recordings.
During the investigation, additional elements were gathered that linked the suspect to the crime. The individual eventually led officers to the location where he had hidden the mask used and the hammer allegedly employed to break the establishment's windows. The cash register and 253 euros of the stolen money were also recovered.
The Civil Guard proceeded with the individual's arrest, and he was subsequently handed over to the Court of Guard in Puerto del Rosario.
