The Association of Businesspeople of Puerto del Rosario has described the participation in the fifth edition of the Opportunities Fair as a "positive balance," which turned Primero de Mayo street into a meeting point for residents and visitors. For two days, approximately 45 businesses offered special promotions and activities.
The event featured a diverse program ranging from musical performances and car and motorcycle exhibitions to creative workshops, poetry corners, and solidarity actions. The "Poem Tree" initiative stood out, placing poetry as a central theme, alongside collage and cyanotype workshops, and children's activities.
The fair's solidarity aspect enabled fundraising for the Association Against Metastatic Breast Cancer of Fuerteventura, thanks to the gastronomy area and activities linked to the "Poem Tree." The association's president, Daniela Plotegher, expressed gratitude to "all the people and entities" who made the event possible.
Plotegher also acknowledged the collaboration of the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, the Island Council of Fuerteventura, and the Government of the Canary Islands, as well as the participation of the Institute of Tefía and Ampuyenta in creating the poems. The Pejeverde Association and Club GT Fuerteventura were also recognized for their contribution to the vehicle exhibition.
The president emphasized the "enormous solidarity response from the citizens," reaffirming the social commitment of local commerce, with all proceeds destined for the fight against metastatic breast cancer.
