The port of Corralejo, located on the northeast coast of Fuerteventura, has undergone a series of repairs and maintenance to optimize its service. This facility is one of the busiest in terms of passenger traffic within the Puertos Canarios network, making the intervention necessary to maintain adequate conditions for all users.
The project, with an initial tender amount of 802,547.05 euros (excluding IGIC), was awarded for 726,621.61 euros (excluding IGIC). The final settlement amounted to 71,720.26 euros (excluding IGIC), bringing the total to 798,341.87 euros (excluding IGIC).
During the final reception visit, the director of Puertos Canarios, José Gilberto Moreno, along with the mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, technicians from the entity, and representatives from the company Pérez Moreno, supervised the works. These included the lining of the espaldón wall with alveolar panels and the renovation of the pedestrian promenade's pavement, incorporating new railings and pavement throughout the accessible area up to the riverside quay. The lighting has also been upgraded to more efficient LED technology.
Additionally, the passenger terminal and its canopies have been refurbished. A 60-cubic-meter water tank has been installed to prevent shortages. Other maintenance tasks involved replacing bollards, repairing sanitation manholes, and painting pylons and beacons.
Puertos Canarios, a public business entity attached to the Department of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, operates under the name ECOPUERTOS AUTONÓMICOS DE CANARIAS.
