The Council of Puerto del Rosario has given initial approval to an amendment of the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) Ordinance, introducing tax incentives of up to 50% to foster economic activity within the municipality.

The new regulation outlines four main lines of fiscal incentives. A 50% bonus will be offered for the initiation of new businesses, up to 50% for the creation of permanent jobs, a 30% bonus for investments in renewable energy or electric vehicle charging points, and an additional 50% for activities deemed of special municipal interest.
New entrepreneurs and professionals starting their ventures in the municipality will benefit from a 50% reduction on the tax quota for five years following the legally mandated exemption period. Regarding job creation, the incentives will be progressive: a 20% bonus for hiring between 1 and 5 permanent employees, 35% for an increase of 6 to 10 employees, and the maximum 50% for increments exceeding 10 stable jobs.
Companies investing in renewable energy facilities or installing electric vehicle charging stations will receive a 30% tax break, provided these installations are certified by the competent administration. Furthermore, a 50% bonus will be applied to activities that the Council declares of special interest or municipal utility due to social, cultural, historical-artistic reasons, or for promoting employment.

"With this amendment, we send a clear message to our entrepreneurs and business owners: the Puerto del Rosario City Council is your ally."

David de Vera · Mayor of Puerto del Rosario

"These incentives are not an expense, but a strategic investment in the future of our municipality, rewarding those who risk their capital to generate wealth and, above all, to create stable, quality jobs."

David de Vera · Mayor of Puerto del Rosario

"Each of these bonuses responds to a specific need: supporting those who are starting out, rewarding those who hire, driving the ecological transition, and protecting activities of social or cultural value."

Juan Manuel Verdugo · Councillor for Economy and Finance
The Puerto del Rosario City Council stated that these bonuses, which will be applied to the tax quota after mandatory state deductions, must be requested by taxpayers. Following initial approval, the ordinance amendment will undergo a thirty-business-day public information period for the submission of claims and suggestions before its final publication.
