The Puerto del Rosario City Council has greenlit a multi-year investment plan of 9,529,660.32 euros, to be executed between 2026 and 2029, aimed at modernizing infrastructure and enhancing quality of life.

The ordinary May plenary session has approved a multi-year strategic plan with a budget of 9,529,660.32 euros, designated for key projects between 2026 and 2029. The initiative encompasses actions in neighborhoods, rural areas, public spaces, and municipal facilities, with the goal of modernizing infrastructure, optimizing public services, and improving the municipality's quality of life.
To ensure the viability of the works, the plan includes an exceptional modification of the spending limits set by the Law on Local Treasuries. The bulk of the investment, over 7.3 million euros, will be concentrated in 2027. Among the most significant interventions is the asphalting and service replacement in the El Charco neighborhood, with an investment of 3.68 million euros.
Other notable actions include the renovation of services and asphalting in the Las Granadas neighborhood (1.34 million euros), and the refurbishment of Parque Risco Prieto (1.44 million euros), to be developed between 2026 and 2029. Rural areas will benefit from improvements in asphalting and the installation of speed limiters, with an investment exceeding 715,000 euros.
The plan also includes investments in cultural and security facilities, such as the La Matilla Cultural Center (650,727 euros) and the Fire Station (423,285 euros). Improvements in accessibility and facilities are also planned for coastal areas like Playa Blanca.

"We are facing an unprecedented investment that will transform Puerto del Rosario."

David de Vera · Mayor of Puerto del Rosario
Mayor David de Vera highlighted that the plan responds to neighborhood demands and aims to improve services across the entire municipal area. For her part, the Councilor for Public Works, Ana Hernández, emphasized that the program will comprehensively address the renovation of essential infrastructure for citizens, focusing on road safety, sanitation, and the improvement of public spaces.
The Councilor for Economy and Finance, Juan Manuel Verdugo, advocated for "responsible and transparent economic management" for an investment of this magnitude, explaining that the multi-year spending and the modification of legal limits will allow the budget to be adjusted to the actual pace of work execution. The approval of the file is the necessary step to initiate the contracting procedures.
