The Popular Party has requested explanations from the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, regarding the management of the 2025 budget, after confirming that only 48.42% of the planned real investments were executed.

The political group has expressed concern over the failure to execute more than half of the budgeted investments, despite the municipality's needs. This situation, according to the PP, occurs in a context of deficiencies in basic services in the town's neighborhoods.

"It is incomprehensible that, with the problems our neighborhoods continue to face in basic services such as lighting, paving, or cleaning, the City Council is unable to execute the investments it has itself budgeted."

The popular spokesperson, Ana Padilla, emphasized that the problem does not lie in a lack of resources, but in deficient management. The PP considers the situation even more serious given that 22 million euros from the budget were not executed, which, in their opinion, demonstrates poor planning by the CC-PSOE governing group.
Furthermore, the Popular Party has criticized that this lack of budget execution coincides with a "continuous increase" in taxes since the beginning of the legislature, mentioning the increase in the sewage fee, the future rise in the garbage fee, and the increase in regulated parking.

"Residents are paying more, but they do not see improvements in their daily lives. It makes no sense to increase tax pressure if the resources are then not used to address the real needs of the capital municipality."
