The cultural program will begin on Friday, May 8, with the inauguration of the pictorial exhibition “Natura” and the presentation of the comic book “Garajonay: Bosque Encantado” at the Casa de la Cultura de Vallehermoso. The event, starting at 18:00, will feature the participation of a writer for the presentation and a musical performance by a saxophonist.
The art exhibition, promoted by the Vallehermoso City Council, showcases pictorial works and graphic narratives inspired by the landscape, identity, and nature of La Gomera. The exhibition will be open to the public until May 22, with hours from Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00.
On Saturday, May 9, at 12:00, the Pedro García Cabrera Municipal Library will host a new session of “Story Time” with the proposal “The Magical Librarian”. This activity is aimed at families with children aged 3 to 9, seeking to foster reading and imagination through narration and creativity. The initiative is supported by a foundation and a storytelling company.
The cultural weekend will culminate with the start of the XXII Atlantic Sound Festival in Vallehermoso, featuring “Musicleta” in the Plaza de la Constitución. Performances will take place on Saturday, May 9, at 18:00 and Sunday, May 10, at 12:00, with the backing of the Vallehermoso City Council, the Island Council of La Gomera, the Government of the Canary Islands, a cultural association, and the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development.
