The event will highlight Vallehermoso's central role in the race route and logistics for the championship, which will take place from September 17th to 20th, 2026. This international sporting event aims to promote the municipality's landscapes, which will serve as the backdrop for two demanding races: the ULTRA SKY SWC (61 km) and the MIEL DE PALMA SKY MARATHON (42 km).
The Plaza de la Constitución will be transformed into the "Life Base" for the Ultra Sky race at kilometer 18.5, offering vital assistance, food and drink, and a baggage service for international athletes.
“"Having the world's skyrunning elite pass through Vallehermoso is a source of pride and an opportunity to showcase the beauty of our territory. We want this experience to be unforgettable for everyone who visits us."
The World Championships, endorsed by the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) and supported by the FEDME, anticipates participation from national teams across five continents. This is expected to firmly place Vallehermoso on the international mountain competition map and boost the island's tourism and economy.
In parallel, the San Juan Festivals programming continues tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23rd, with a Eucharist at the Church of San Juan Bautista, followed by a procession, the lighting of bonfires signaled by the Silbo Gomero, a fireworks display, and a popular dance with the orchestras Gomera and Wamampy.
