The claim arises after complaints from residents, patients, and workers, who confirmed that taps remain closed and water jugs are used in restrooms and consultations. Analyses reportedly detected high levels of vinyl chloride in the facility.

Mayor Alfredo Villalba emphasizes the need for competent administrations to act quickly and maintain clear communication. For his part, the Councilor for Health, Marcos Lemes, expresses concern about the conditions, calling it "not normal" for a health center to operate with closed taps and jugs.

The Department of Health will request all available information on analyses, communications, protocols, and the planned timeline for definitively resolving the situation. The aim is to ascertain how long the incident has been known, what risks have been assessed, and what actions are underway, given that the Preventive Medicine service was not aware of the problem until recently.
Currently, work is underway to condition the building's external pipes, which could be related to resolving the incident. However, it is requested that while the works last, more effective and sufficient provisional measures be established to ensure the proper functioning of the health center.
The Haría City Council reminds that the Mala health center provides medicine, nursing, and rehabilitation services, avoiding the need for residents to travel to other parts of the municipality. Therefore, it demands that the necessary actions be accelerated, the safety of patients and workers be guaranteed, and updated information be provided to municipal officials, center staff, and the public.
