On Tuesday night, Haría's main square hosted the most significant official ceremony of the San Juan festivities in the municipality. The event was filled with emotion, particularly with the posthumous official designation of Juan Santana as "Hijo Predilecto," fulfilling a recent unanimous plenary agreement.
Additionally, the Haría 2026 Award was presented to the collective of artisans from the northern territory, also in accordance with a recent plenary decision. This award recognizes the work and legacy of the area's artisans.
“"We commit to continuing to work for the well-being of our neighbors."
Following the awards, the traditional 'Facundo' effigy burning took place. During this event, the 'Diablos' (Devils) debuted new costumes designed by local creator Oswaldo Machín, provided by the Cabildo.
The festivities, which began earlier this month under the coordination of the City Council, have seen significant public participation. Last Saturday's pilgrimage attracted a large crowd, and Monday night's recital by Taburete also had high attendance.
For Wednesday, a mass with a procession is scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM through the town center.
