The municipality of Haría is gearing up to host the Charco del Palo Festivities 2026, an event set to take place on October 2nd and 3rd. The planned program includes a wide range of cultural, musical, gastronomic, and leisure activities, designed to foster participation and coexistence among residents and visitors.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, has highlighted the importance of these festivities as a meeting point. Meanwhile, the Councilor for Festivities, Alberto de León, noted that the program is designed for all ages, with music, gastronomy, and children's activities as central elements.
The opening day, Friday, October 2nd, will commence at 8:00 PM with the official inauguration. Following this, at 8:30 PM, the group Lidia con Ello will perform.
Saturday, October 3rd, will host the majority of the activities. Starting at 2:00 PM, the Tapas and Desserts Contest will be held, accompanied by a musical performance from the group Dushan. Later, at 3:30 PM, the contest winners will be announced, with music also provided by the group Teguibanda.
The Saturday afternoon will feature participatory events, including a Rummikub tournament in the Tropical Garden (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) and a Soulfaktory voice workshop led by Karl Frierson (5:00 PM - 6:00 PM). At 6:15 PM, awards will be presented for the Rummikub tournament and the Best Makeup Contest, followed by an acrobatics show by the Furaha team.
The schedule continues with a Cuban dance workshop 'Rueda de Casino' (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM), taught by Catherine Roth and Karl Frierson. The Orquesta Informal will perform at 8:00 PM, followed by a Jam Session lasting until midnight.
Younger attendees will have their own space on Saturday, with a children's area opening at 2:00 PM, offering face painting activities for children and adults, as well as a playroom.
The Haría City Council encourages residents and visitors to participate in the planned festivities, aiming to combine music, gastronomy, leisure, and community spirit in Charco del Palo.
