The Teguise City Council has highlighted the progress in expanding educational services for children aged 0 to 3 years in the municipality, emphasizing the importance of meeting family reconciliation needs and ensuring quality public education in all areas.
The 1-2 year old classroom at CEIP Soo has already filled its 14 places, demonstrating the existing demand and the need to bring educational services closer to the different areas of this extensive municipality. Mayor Olivia Duque expressed her satisfaction with the success of the classroom and the real need for these resources for families.
Duque also highlighted the action by the Canary Islands Government's Department of Education in Costa Teguise, where a new classroom for 36 children aged 2 to 3 years has been built. Although not yet operational, it is expected to be incorporated into the educational offering during the current academic year.
The Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, emphasized the importance of educational planning adapted to each area to strengthen family reconciliation, supporting single-teacher schools and expanding resources where demand is highest.
The council also recalled the improvements made to various educational centers in the municipality, including interventions in electrical systems, improvements in school canteens, installation of shade areas, new aluminum carpentry, and photovoltaic panels at CEIP Doctor Alfonso Espinosa, as well as exterior repairs and painting.
The concierge service has been reinforced to facilitate the use of educational spaces outside of school hours for sports, cultural, and training activities, and the work to improve the surface at CEIP César Manrique Cabrera has begun.
The Teguise City Council reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with competent administrations to improve the municipality's educational centers, promoting new actions and demanding the necessary resources for the educational offering to grow in line with family needs.
