The aid will be distributed based on the distance to the educational center, allocating 150 euros for students in Lanzarote; 700 euros for those studying outside the island but within the Archipelago, and 800 euros for students pursuing education outside of Canary Islands.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that "education is one of the fundamental pillars for the development of our society and the future of new generations, so it is essential that the young people of Teguise and La Graciosa have the same opportunities to continue their education, regardless of their economic situation or where they decide to study".
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, pointed out that "many of our young people have to temporarily leave their homes to access certain degrees that are not offered in Lanzarote, a reality that we must keep in mind to encourage them to develop their academic and professional careers without insularity being a limitation".
Finally, the Councilor for Subsidies and Finance, Javier Díaz, explained that "the call includes different amounts depending on where the studies are pursued, with the aim of adapting the aid to the students' travel needs, both for those studying in Lanzarote and for those who must move to other islands or outside the Canary Islands".
Applicants must be registered in Teguise for at least one year at the time of application and enrolled in baccalaureate, vocational training, or university studies through in-person enrollment for a full course with a minimum of 30 credits or equivalent, unless fewer credits remain to complete the degree. Online university studies will be considered included if the obligation of in-person tutorials or exams is demonstrated. Applications for Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), official language courses, or studies pursued at UNED outside the island will not be considered for this call.
Interested parties have until November 30 to submit their application and required documentation through the electronic headquarters or in person at the offices. All information, as well as the application form, is available on the City Council's website.
