The Teguise City Council has paid tribute to the work and dedication of the Enriqueta and Girasol pensions, located in La Graciosa. Both have been honored with the 2026 Tourism Distinguished Award, presented by the Lanzarote External Promotion Society (SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote) in the Company category.
The award, presented in Puerto del Carmen to commemorate World Tourism Day, recognizes the trajectory of these two pioneering projects in the accommodation offerings of Caleta del Sebo, which laid the foundation for the growth of the tourism sector in La Graciosa.
“"This distinction rewards the commitment, effort, and hospitality of those who welcomed the first visitors to La Graciosa and laid the groundwork for an authentic, close, and connected way of doing tourism that reflects who we are."
Mayor Olivia Duque emphasized that the award is a "shared pride for the entire municipality" and a recognition of years of effort. Meanwhile, Tourism Councilor Rita Hernández highlighted the importance of these pensions in representing the character and idiosyncrasy of La Graciosa across generations, respecting the island's traditions and identity.
The Teguise City Council extended its congratulations to all those recognized in this edition of the Lanzarote Island Awards and 2026 Tourism Distinguished Awards, accolades that celebrate the dedication of those who drive the growth and tourism projection of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
