The incident occurred this Sunday, when emergency services were alerted around 1:14 PM. The 112 Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordinating Center dispatched personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) to assist the affected individual.
Upon arrival, SUC personnel confirmed that the woman had several moderate injuries. Due to the challenging terrain, a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was deployed to carry out the rescue operation.
After being rescued, the hiker was transported to the helipad of the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín. From there, she was transferred to the emergency department of the same hospital for necessary medical attention.
