A 59-year-old hiker was rescued by helicopter this Sunday after suffering a fall and being injured in a difficult-to-access area in the municipality of Tejeda, Gran Canaria.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the El Chorrillo area, a remote location that prevented a ground rescue, as reported by the 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center.
The Canarian Government's Emergency and Rescue Group deployed a helicopter to evacuate the woman, who was transported to the helipad of Doctor Negrín Hospital in the island's capital.
Upon arrival at the hospital, personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service assisted her and transported her by ambulance for medical attention. The hiker sustained various moderate injuries, without further complications.
