The decision affected the route running along the GC-600 to the Los Llanos junction, and via the GC-130 access to the same point. This situation prevented the normal development of the competition in one of the key sections of the event.
“"It was made sufficiently clear that private vehicles were prohibited from accessing the stipulated area between the Los Llanos junction and its connection with the GC-600 and GC-130."
Currently, after the cancellation of the first pass, efforts are underway to remove the infringing vehicles. The goal is to ensure that the second pass of this special stage, which constitutes the sixth section of the Rally Islas Canarias-Rally de España, can proceed without further setbacks.
Initially, the cordoned-off area that led to this cancellation had been avoided in the original rally route due to its sensitivity and environmental recommendations. However, the effects of storm Therese forced its inclusion in the event's itinerary.
The competition is scheduled to resume in the Mogán-La Aldea section starting at 11:16 AM, with hopes that no new incidents will disrupt the rally's progress.
