The local government of southern Fuerteventura has launched a specific operation focused on screening and thoroughly cleaning Gran Tarajal beach. The primary objective is to ensure the bathing area offers the best conditions of safety, health, and cleanliness during the upcoming high season.
The work, combining mechanical and manual methods, has been intensified in recent days. State-of-the-art screening machinery has been used to aerate the sand and remove impurities and small residues. In parallel, municipal workers are carrying out periodic tasks to adapt access points, empty bins, and inspect public facilities throughout the coastal area, which attracts numerous vacationers.
The governing group has emphasized the "human and technical effort" required to maintain the coastline in excellent condition, achieved through coordination between the departments of Services, Tourism, and Beaches. Therefore, the Tuineje City Council calls for collective awareness among users to actively collaborate in keeping Gran Tarajal beach clean, preserving a space that is a municipal heritage.
