The Government of the Canary Islands has commenced asphalting works on the La Roseta section, part of the Paredes–Alajeró–Airport road, on the island of La Gomera, aiming to strengthen the island's road network.

The director general of Road Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands and the counselor of Mobility and Transport of the Cabildo de La Gomera oversaw the start of these works on April 27. This intervention is part of the Executive's strategy to enhance road safety and optimize traffic conditions on one of the island's key connection axes.
The action is part of the Roads Agreement with the State and is being executed by the UTE Acciona Construcción, S.A.–El Silbo Construcciones y Obras, S.L., after being awarded the contract for an amount of 20,318,206 euros.

"Within the Paredes–Alajeró-Airport project, today we are starting asphalting work in the La Roseta area, where the intermediate layer of asphalt is being laid."

It has been detailed that, subsequently, work will be carried out on the Antóncojo section, which is in a similar situation, to then continue with the execution of the wearing course in both points and in the Alajeró bypass.
The total investment on the island, within the current Roads Agreement, already exceeds 100 million euros, including ongoing works and projects in drafting. Currently, there are four ongoing projects, several emergency actions already completed, and new projects underway, demonstrating significant progress in improving infrastructure in La Gomera.

"Collaboration between administrations is at its maximum, and it is important to incorporate neighborhood contributions that the Cabildo is addressing to improve the development and final outcome of the action."

The emergency action in Alajeró has also been visited. On the island, other important works are underway, including the Vallehermoso bypass, the access avenue to the Insular Hospital of La Gomera, and the second phase of the San Sebastián–Hospital–Ávalos Ring Road project. This strategic intervention will improve island connectivity by linking the GM-1 road, through the access to La Lomada, with the CV-2 (Camino del Clavo), in the municipality of San Sebastián de La Gomera.
