These grants, funded by the Canary Institute of Housing and the City Council itself, aim to promote the improvement of homes in rural areas. Interested parties have until July 1, 2026, to submit their applications, with a 20-day period starting from June 4.
Beneficiaries must be registered residents and effectively reside in the municipality, as well as be owners or co-owners of the property to be renovated, which must serve as their habitual and permanent residence.
The renovation works must comply with applicable urban planning regulations. The total budget allocated for this initiative amounts to 108,358.86 euros. Individual subsidies can cover up to 50% of the eligible cost, with a maximum of 10,000 euros per dwelling.
For homes occupied by vulnerable groups, the aid percentage can reach 100% of the investment, still capped at 10,000 euros.
Detailed information and application submission, along with required documentation (DNI/NIE, proof of ownership, income statements, work history, tax returns), can be accessed through the electronic headquarters of the Alajeró City Council, the municipal General Registry, or any other location stipulated by law.
This program is fundamentally aimed at collaborating with families for the remodeling of their homes and, in general, to combat depopulation, especially in rural areas.
