The municipality of San Sebastián de La Gomera is preparing to celebrate the last weekend of August with Summer End, a music and activities festival organized by the Youth Department. The event will take place on Friday, August 28th, and will feature performances by DJ Zegar, Idel el Mulatico, Yet Garbey, Evando Moreira, Monterrojo, and Grupo Sabor.
In addition to the musical program, the festival will offer a Fan Zone from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Visitor Center parking lot. This leisure area will include activities such as a foam party, 360° camera, mechanical bull, and temporary tattoos, complementing the entertainment.
La Mueve, the leading music radio station in the Canary Islands, will join the celebration with a special live broadcast, aiming to make the summer farewell a day of fun and coexistence.
The mayor, Angélica Padilla, highlighted the importance of youth participation, recalling a recent successful meeting with local young people that laid the groundwork for a working group. "This is an initiative driven by the Youth Department to create a permanent forum where young people can voice their needs, concerns, and proposals, directly participating in shaping municipal policies that affect them," she stated.
For his part, the Councilor for Youth, Aday Herrera, added that during the meeting with young people, Summer End was officially presented, a proposal that was enthusiastically received, even contributing ideas like the foam party. "We have been working for months on the design of this participatory process, with the aim of making the municipality's youth the protagonists of the actions and ensuring that youth policies respond to their real needs," he noted.
Summer End will be held this Friday, August 28th, from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, in the parking lot of the Visitor Center. Admission will be free.
