The training, designed to introduce seniors to the knowledge and preservation of the islands' typical attire, will be led by renowned artisan Josefa «Pepita» Bravo de Laguna. The course will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
This initiative, jointly organized by the Ingenio Day Center for Seniors, the FEDAC, and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, aims to foster learning of techniques and knowledge related to traditional clothing. Through this, it seeks to keep island customs alive and highlight the archipelago's rich cultural heritage.
Catalina Sánchez, Councilor for Seniors and Crafts of the Ingenio City Council, highlighted the positive reception of previous calls and the existing demand for continuing such specialized training.
Interested individuals should contact the Ingenio Senior Center to register and learn about the requirements. As places are limited, it is advisable to check availability and obtain further information by calling 928 782 375.
