The Ingenio City Council has launched a new edition of the Summer Sports Camps, a free initiative combining sports, leisure, and family conciliation for 180 girls, boys, and young people aged 6 to 14, running until September 4th.

The Sports Department of the Ingenio City Council is organizing these camps at three municipal facilities: the Diego Vega Sports Center in El Puente, the Manuel Jiménez Rosales Football Field in El Toril, and the El Burrero Civic Center. Each venue has 60 places, totaling 180 participants who will enjoy a varied program of sports, recreational, and educational activities.
Activities take place from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. To facilitate work-life balance during the summer holidays, an early drop-off service is available from 7:00 AM and pick-up until 2:00 PM.
Participation in the camps is completely free, thanks to funding from the Corresponsables Plan of the Ministry of Equality, which has allocated 75,000 euros to this initiative. This plan aims to support families in co-responsibility and care.
The mayor of Ingenio and Councilor for Sports, Vanesa Martín, visited one of the camps and highlighted the importance of this resource for the municipality's families. "To help families balance work and life, we continue to support these municipal summer camps for another year," she stated, adding that "each venue hosts about 60 children and the service is completely free." She emphasized the commitment to continue creating spaces for socialization and sports, offering much-needed support for better work-life balance.
In addition to promoting work-life balance, the camps encourage healthy lifestyle habits and provide a safe and educational environment during the holidays. Through sports, games, and recreational activities, participants develop values such as companionship, respect, teamwork, and coexistence.
