The Ingenio City Council, through the Department of Festivities, has designed an agenda that combines faith, tradition, culture, sports, music, heritage, and family activities for the Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Saint Roch, and Saint Haragán. The program is complemented by digital dissemination and can be collected at municipal centers and commercial establishments.
Religious events will commence on Thursday, August 6, with a novena dedicated to the neighborhoods of El Carrizal. The main celebrations will take place on August 15 and 16 with solemn Eucharists and processions in honor of Our Lady of Good Counsel and Saint Roch.
Popular activities will kick off on July 31 with the opening speech by resident Mª Dolores (‘Loli’) Ramírez and a concert by Besay Pérez. Following this, numerous events for all audiences will take place, including a zanga tournament on August 1, a family day with children's entertainment and a water party on August 2, followed by an evening event for seniors. On Friday, August 7, a reproduction of the clock of the Heredamiento Principal y Mina de El Carrizal will be inaugurated, and the Youth Night will be celebrated.
The week of August 12 will include the institutional and social event for the 75th anniversary of C.F. Unión Carrizal and the 'Desde Mi Barrio' program on Wednesday the 12th, as well as the Juan Guedes Regional Football Tournament and a 'hi-fi' scale on Thursday the 13th. On Friday, August 14, the Offering Pilgrimage to Ntra. Sra. del Buen Suceso will take place, with the participation of 17 carts, and the day will conclude with the II Pepín Viera Rope Dance and Orchestra Night.
On the main day, August 15, in addition to religious celebrations, there will be a dawn parade, a market, a livestock fair-exhibition, and a popular toast, culminating in the XXXI Zonal Festival Virgen del Buen Suceso by A.F.C. Guayadeque and a musical night. For Sunday, August 16, the VIII Buen Suceso Cart Race has been scheduled, and the festivities will close with El Vega.
The festivities will continue with the Pancho Ramírez Youth Football Tournament on August 21 and the 'San Haragán' events in El Burrero, which will include Summer Cinema from August 20 to 22 and a fun water party with a popular paella and live music on Sunday, August 23.
With this extensive program, the August festivities in El Carrizal aim to be a meeting point and a space for participation, keeping alive the traditional celebrations that attract thousands of people each year.
