Nueva Canarias de Santa Lucía has urged Mayor Francisco García to apply the municipal secretary's criteria regarding non-attached councilors and to report on it in the upcoming April plenary session, following the judicial rejection of precautionary measures.

The political organization Nueva Canarias de Santa Lucía has issued a statement demanding that Mayor Francisco García immediately apply the criteria established by the municipal secretary regarding the status of councilors who left the party to join Municipalistas Primero Canarias. They also request that this report be presented and discussed in the next ordinary plenary session, scheduled for April.
According to NC, recent judicial rulings reinforce the validity of the party's decisions and necessitate the regularization of the political and administrative situation within the City Council.

Recent judicial rulings reinforce the validity of the party's decisions and necessitate the regularization of the political and administrative situation within the City Council.

The nationalist party recalled that in the previous plenary session, the mayor avoided presenting the report from the General Secretariat of the corporation, citing the existence of precautionary measures requested by the councilors involved. However, NC emphasizes that these measures have been dismissed by the Justice system, thus removing any justification for postponing the application of the municipal legal criteria.
NC considers it “irregular” that the mayor continues to ignore the report from the City Council's General Secretary, which already established the non-attached status for the councilors. Furthermore, they criticize that the mayor himself has, according to their account, expressed disagreement with this criterion and has sought alternative ways to avoid its implementation.
The party has also expressed concern about the “institutional deterioration” that, in their opinion, is being caused by the actions of the councilors who left the party. This situation, according to NC, has left the local government in a minority and has displaced the political project supported by voters.
