The UGT union section at the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council has called for a protest on July 17 due to the blockage of the professional career path.

The event, described as a protest breakfast, will take place at 11:00 AM in front of the municipal offices in Vecindario. The decision follows an assembly attended by over 100 municipal workers, including technical staff, tradespeople, and local police officers.
The union claims that the local government has failed to implement a plenary agreement for several months. According to the organization, this situation affects more than 250 municipal employees and creates significant economic inequality within the City Council staff.

"We cannot allow the local administration to look the other way while it violates a right recognized and agreed upon in the plenary session."

Union representatives point out that this stagnation contrasts with the situation in other nearby municipalities, such as Ingenio, Puerto del Rosario, or Guía, where the professional career path and destination supplement improvements have already been regularized.
The assembly unanimously approved the start of this mobilization calendar. Workers warn that if there is no progress in effective negotiations to launch the competition, further protest actions will be carried out.
