Temperatures will continue to rise in the Canary Islands this Tuesday, with forecasts predicting they will reach or even exceed 30 and up to 32 degrees in different parts of the archipelago. The day will be characterized by mostly clear skies and moderate winds, which could bring strong and even very strong gusts in certain areas, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The maximum temperatures forecast for today are 30 degrees in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 28 degrees in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Minimum temperatures in both capitals will be 23 degrees. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with intervals of strong winds in the southeast and northwest extremities, expected to intensify in the late hours of the day, with the possibility of very strong gusts.
Regarding the island-by-island forecast, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura expect highs of up to 30 and 32 degrees respectively, with mostly clear skies and moderate northeasterly winds. In Gran Canaria, highs could reach 30-32 degrees in the southeast and western midlands, with the possibility of locally reaching 34 degrees. Winds will be moderate from the northeast with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes.
Tenerife will register highs of up to 30 degrees in low-lying areas of the south and the metropolitan area, with moderate northeasterly winds and strong gusts in the southeast and northwest extremities. La Gomera and La Palma anticipate highs of 28 and 27 degrees, respectively, with similar winds and the probability of very strong gusts on specific slopes. Finally, El Hierro will experience highs of up to 22 degrees, with moderate and strong winds in the southeast and west.
