Emergency services rescued a 12-year-old girl who suffered a severe head injury after falling four meters in a ravine in Veneguera, Mogán, requiring helicopter evacuation.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Los Azulejos area, a popular hiking spot in Veneguera, within the municipality of Mogán. The minor, aged 12, fell from a height of four meters, resulting in a significant head injury.
The alert was received by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 112 around 4 PM. A group of paramedics who were hiking in the area were the first to assist the girl and, after assessing the severity of her injuries, raised the alarm.
The rescue operation was complicated by the difficult access to the accident site, which prevented ground transportation. A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands transported the girl and her mother to a more accessible area, a football field, where she was transferred to a medical helicopter from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC).
After being immobilized and attended to by the medical team on board the aircraft, the girl was evacuated to the University Hospital Materno Infantil de Canarias to receive specialized medical care. The SUC health coordinator informed the hospital's emergency pediatrician about the minor's arrival.
The Los Azulejos area is known for its scenic beauty, especially after storm episodes, when rainfall creates waterfalls that attract numerous visitors and hikers.
